About Jeff

Jeff’s path to Off The Deep End began long before the company itself. After previously owning and operating a pool service business, he sold it to pursue a career in real estate appraisal, just as the 2007 housing market began to collapse. A few years later, another pivot brought him back to the pool industry, this time rehabilitating neglected pools left behind during the housing crisis. That opportunity eventually grew into the residential maintenance company that became OTDE.

As OTDE’s original owner-operator, Jeff did it all; from fieldwork and customer relationships to accounting, invoicing, and receivables. As the company expanded, he moved into renovation sales and project management and later helped train employees and transition responsibilities to a growing leadership team. Today, Jeff has the opportunity to serve primarily as a silent partner, providing outside perspective, coaching, ideas, and insight as OTDE continues to grow.

Jeff is especially proud that OTDE has been built largely through personal referrals from both customers and employees. For him, however, success goes beyond business growth. He wants OTDE to be a place where employees feel supported in developing professionally and personally. Seeing team members achieve milestones such as homeownership is among the most rewarding parts of what the company has built.

Guided by his personal faith, Jeff values integrity, generosity, perseverance, and investing in others. Outside of OTDE, he enjoys hiking, camping, mountain biking, and spending meaningful time with family and close friends.

Despite his outgoing personality, Jeff is an extreme introvert who values plenty of time to recharge. And if you ask his family, one talent deserves special recognition: a surprisingly spot-on Donald Duck impression.
